In association with Table Tennis Australia

Working hard to improve my forehand. Comfortable with backhand, but to step up to the next level the forehand is the big game changer, so that is what I need to focus on.

Played at work today with Ash. Useful practice for my forehand top spin, seeing he has a heavy chop / backspin. I find this difficult to lift up over the net, so have been watching some tutorials and working hard on timing and heavy brush back of the ball to counter act the spin and loop the ball back over the net.

Went to club (Peter Masen's Academy, Maroubra) at weekend. Plenty of great singles and doubles practice. All the guys / ladies here are excellent and a good level for me to aim at. This is where I can hone in that forehand, by watching and learning. This week I won and lost afew singles.

  • I have been playing Table Tennis since an early age. My father David was my inspiration and introduced me to the sport. He played at a high level, and never gave me much of a chance during our games at the local leisure center. I reckon I can beat him now. His strongest shot was the backhand flick, which ironically is now my favourite shot. I play at my local club, Peter Masen Table Tennis Academy in Maroubra.
